PENDAMPINGAN PEMANFAATAN BUAH PEDADA SEBAGAI BAHAN DASAR PEMBUATAN SABUN CAIR ALAMI DI KECAMATAN BANYUASIN II

Buah pedada (Sonneratia caseolaris) yang memiliki kandungan antibakteri dan antioksidan alami belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal oleh masyarakat di Desa Sungsang IV, Kecamatan Banyuasin II. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) yang dilakukan bertujuan untuk mensosialisakan dalam bentuk pendampingan pemanfaatan buah pedada sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan sabun cair alami. Sebanyak 20 peserta (7 bujang gadis Sungsang dan 13 warga desa) yang berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan PkM. Tahapan kegiatan meliputi pengenalan bahan baku, demonstrasi dan praktik langsung pembuatan sabun cair alami, dan tanya jawab. Tingginya antusias peserta selama kegiatan berlangsung menunjukkan keberhasilan kegiatan PkM dalam mendampingi peserta untuk mengoptimalkan potensi buah mangrove. Kegiatan pendampingan ini dapat sebagai stimulus yang tidak hanya mendorong tumbuhnya kelompok usaha lokal, namun juga diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat setempat akan pentingnya menjaga pelestarian mangrove melalui pemanfaatan berkelanjutan.
